  are jw's heading for the exit?

  after lurking on this site for a year or so i have noticed a number of new poster's including me.

  but does this indicate a massive departure for the exit?

  Interesting post. I believe we're never going to see a mass exodus. Why? The cost of leaving, for most, is to high. You lose your "friends" and for many your family.

  what I do see though, especially amongst the 25 and younger crowd, is they aren't becoming as mentally invested in the religion as previous generations. Sure, they still pioneer, help with construction projects, and many still reach out to become servants or elders. Ask them anything related to doctrine? 607bc what? Jesus isn't my mediator? What's a mediator? They aren't invested in the doctrine anymore. They don't follow the rules as strictly as older ones did. Yeah they'll follow some rules, but if rules inconvenience them, well then not so much.

  are more millennials actually waking up or is it pretty even amongst previous generations as well?

  Born in 80, I always feel like I could relate to both groups. GenX, was my cool older brother. I always wanted to be into the things he was into. Millennial seemed like the younger brother, who would tell me what I'm doing/wearing isn't cool anymore.

  I don't have Pinterest, or any other social media account other than Twitter. I can tell you from experience, even just asking a Jw a question will 99% of the time get you blocked instantly.

  United States baptism stats 1969-2015

  whenever the new yearbooks come out, we all look at the figures and see the publisher increase never really matches up with the baptism figures.

  it never should match up as all newly baptized ones are already publishers, and may have been for many years.

  i, as an example, became an unbaptized publisher at age 11. i didn't get baptized until i was 17. .

  finally got around to figuring in the death rates. total number of baptized from the 1969 service year through the 2015 service year, with death rates figured in at 1% is 1,462,208. One question i have is, what percentage of publishers are unbaptized? 10-15%?

  in the 2007 yearbook page 16 it says the u.s. has 254,00 publishers in spanish speaking congregations and 26,000 in other languages.

  it also had the figure of a total of 3,742 foreign language congregations.. that figures out to 30% of the total u.s. congregations are foreign language.

  That figures out to 30% of the total u.s. congregations are foreign language. and 26% of publishers are in foreign language, during the 2006 service year. If you took those same percentages out to today it would figure to 4,247 congregations and over 320,000 foreign language publishers. However i believe those numbers are probably higher, since I'm assuming the growth rate is the same in english as in foreign language.

  i could use that chart, the only thing is it doesn't factor in age. i could do ballpark estimates using that chart. i used average because i think its a more accurate number as to the actual number of individual publishers versus number of reports.

  Why didn't I factor in the death rate? The simple answer is, I don't really know how to. In 1975 83,000 were baptized. i would have to factor in the death rate for 40 years. But then as time went by the death rate would be higher and higher as they got older. I just don't know how to go about doing that.
